Subject: my friends are the brightness
Myrna,I think your idea is great. I do think I can help. I have amazing friends. Many of them. I will compile emails and try and draft some kind of introduction. Or would you rather approach them cold? I think you will be pleased with the variety of their different perspectives, professions, etc. We have always tried to keep the door wide. Many of them are artists. Actually all of them are - in some form or another. I suspect the ones who are not professional at 'soul baring' may prove the most interesting for your purposes. Or surprising. Or something. However, the artists are typically fine artists. So maybe the pros will come through with the big guns. Who's to say. I'll be interested in any case in hearing/seeing what you come up with and what they may or may not have to share. Most of them are pretty brave souls, I'd say. They managed to survive my woolly self over the years. God, there are so many people really who I am still in touch with from over the years. Maybe they will all get together and throw a big party and invite me! Hey, in ...what... 8 n half more years it will be my birthday on 11/11/11. I'm going to be wicked famous by them. Hope I'm still this fun ;););)
Anyway I've been thinking a lot about what you asked me, about my 'spiritual practice' these days. You know some days I kind of pine for the ol' it's Sunday this is the day we do our spiritual business -more about me here when I'm feeling a little more joie de vivre -you know, more on herb and music and loops and feedback and art and provocation, spirit and enchantment dreams desires god jesus mary and the saints and all the frisky little minor and major demons and all the stars (hallowed be hollywood blvd) and the moon, and sun, and poets and preachers and singers of spirituals and songs of lust and toil soil and black despair and pain and suffocation suicide surrender release etc and more on that yes later but for now ( and buddha and the irish ghosts and indian hosts (( and iranian madmen - rip mr abdoh & happy bloody birthday )) and native spirits and zen emptinesses and frothy stew of chaos and order - ALL OF IT )
So yes, I think my friends are ripe for a little provocation and fuck it I just survived cancer they can handle a little email that may or may not make them giggle or blush

ps the new house is awesome. i can't wait to tell everyone about it.
